about

Lytta is a song about feminine rage <3

lyrics

I met her for the first time
in July
The day was hot
I felt the sweat in my eyes
she was completely overdressed for the occasion
By my past,
I couldn’t blame

Introduced by a name, I slightly recognized
I couldn’t take my eyes off her like a tragedy I
Felt a boiling
Soon the kettle would be whistling
I’d lose all autonomy

It soon became clear what she was doing her
“it’s a pleasure, friend”, I said
I’ve heard stories and seen you around other guys
But didn’t think we’d meet like this

“our time has come” she said
“The moons just right
The last straw snapped
You broke inside”

I embraced Lytta fully, We became one
I hadn’t ever felt anger like that since ’21
that summer, I came undone

Struggled under rage in September
by December I was blooming, never felt better
Screaming in the car
Took 55 to the moon

She pulled livid feelings from my heart by a string
Wove me into a fully faceted furie
We watched the fool play victim
In a one woman show

As it became clear what she was doing her
“it’s a pleasure, friend”, I said
Walked me through stings of betrayal took the knife out my back
Wiped the blood off my sad shoulders

“our time has come” I told her
“The moons just right
The last straw snapped
I broke inside”

I embraced Lytta fully, We became one
I hadn’t ever felt anger like that since ’21
that summer, I became one

She left this town like a tropical storm
Her name on my lips, standing in the rubble
graced my ears with a whispered goodbye
And a promise of trouble

But the good kind of trouble, never felt so free
Learning to scream brought out a different side to me
It doesn’t matter who I’m living for less it’s me alone

And it became clear what she’d been doing her
“it’s been a pleasure, friend”, I said
I smiled a waved as she looked back
I can’t wait to see her again

“But our time had come” I said
“The moons just right
The last straw snapped
I’m free inside”

When I embraced Lytta fully, We became one
I hadn’t felt anger like that since ’21
that summer, I became one
That summer I came undone
That summer
